Born on the 23rd of April,1982, Ini Edo is an Ibibio andis originally from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Her father was a church elder while her mother was a teacher, which resulted in her strict upbringing.
She had her secondary school education at the Cornelius Connely College, Uyo and then graduated from the University of Uyo, where she got a Diploma in Theatre Arts.

Ini Edo completed her bachelor's degree program at the University of Calabar, where she studied English Language and in 2014, got a scholarship to study law at National Open University of Nigeria.
She officially began her Nollywood career in 2003, and came into limelight after appearing in the movie, 'Thick Madam'.
After that, Ini Edo has appeared in over 100 movies and earned herself a good number of endorsements.
