Microsoft Partners With Access Bank To Improve Banking Experience

Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s leading commercial banks, has announced a strategic partnership with global technology giant Microsoft to enhance the banking experience and security for customers in Nigeria and across Africa.

The partnership was unveiled during a meeting between Access Bank Group Managing Director, Herbert Wigwe, and Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, held in Seattle, USA, on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Speaking at the event, Herbert Wigwe stated:

As one of the largest providers of digital products and services in Africa, this collaboration between Access Bank and Microsoft positions us strategically to enhance online transaction security, increase financial inclusion for the unbanked population across the continent, and streamline banking processes for our customers.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, echoed this sentiment, expressing Microsoft’s commitment to enabling organizations like Access Bank to innovate digitally and achieve exponential growth. He emphasized:

To become the ‘Alibaba of Nigeria,‘ whether as a massive retail operation or a large financial institution, requires strong partnerships with entities that have deep ambitions for exceptional customer service. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Access Bank to drive innovation and deliver exceptional customer experiences in the African financial services sector.”

Herbert Wigwe also highlighted the significant progress Access Bank has made as a leader in Nigeria’s financial industry, particularly its dedication to promoting the adoption of technology and digital platforms as transformative tools in the African banking sector.

With its recent announcement of a five-year goal to connect the African continent to the global economy, Access Bank continues to position itself at the forefront of innovation within the financial services industry, leveraging technology to provide fast, secure, reliable, and seamless cross-border transaction experiences for customers across Africa.
