Born on the 15th of May, 1981, Patrice Evra is a Senegal-born former French professional footballer. He was originally an attacker, and then started playing as a left-back. He also served as a captain for both the French National Team and Premier League club, Manchester United.Born to a diplomat father in Senegal, Evra arrived Europe when he was just a year old and began playing for different clubs.
In 1997, he had a stint at professional club Paris Saint-Germain and a year later, signed his first professional contract with Italian club Marsala, who gave him his professional debut. The following season, he joined Monza, but returned to France a year later to play for Nice.
He joined Monaco in 2002 and was a part of the team that won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2003.
Talking about his early life and family, Evra was born to a Senegalese father, who had a Guinean descent and Juliette, a Cape Verdean mother.
His father moved to Brussels, Belgium to work at the Senegalese embassy when he was just a year old and when he was three, moved to France to settle in Les Ulis.
