Omoni Oboli was born on the 22nd April, 1978 in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria and is of the Mosogar descent in Delta State. She had her early education in Edo State and proceeded to the University of Benin where she got a degree in Foreign Languages (majoring in French).

Entertainment Career

Omoni Oboli started her acting career after being featured in 'Bitter Encounter', a 1996 movie where she played the ole of a secretary. After that, she played the lead female character in three major movies; Destined To Die, Another Campus Tale and Not My Will.
The same year, Omoni paused acting to concentrate in her university education and got married immediately after graduation in 2000. She didn't return to the scenes until about a decade later an since then has been active as a scriptwriter.

Omoni Oboli has written a lot of screenplays like The Rivals which she co-produced with her friend. The Rivals won her the prize for Best International Drama at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival and was the first Nollywood movie to be premiered since the festival's inception.
