Ommy Dimpoz was born on the 30th of July, 1987 in Tanzania. He started performing at an early age of 10 years in events like wedding parties. While still in primary school, he also joined many different talent shows, which helped to grow his stage experience.In 2005 he formed a music group called 'West VIP' with four of his friends. After that,he also formed another group 'West VIP’which got dissolved in 2011 when he wanted to go solo.
After going solo, he worked with artist Ali Kiba and producer KGT in producing his first hit track, 'Nai Nai'. The single opened many doors for the budding artist and an opportunity of performing in many shows across Tanzania. While his fans where still playing the 'Nai Nai' track, he again dived into the studio and produced ‘Baadae’ which garnered more that 700,000 YouTube views.
In 2014, the budding Bongo Flava artist proved to his fans that he has gone international by shooting the 'Ndagushima' video in the United Kingdom. The song again was loved by fans across Tanzania and beyond.
