You Might Not Be Able To Spend Your Mutilated Naira Notes After 2nd Sept - CBN
According to emails sent by various banks to their customers, the Central Bank of Nigeria has given a directive urging all Nigerians to deposit their mutilated, dirty and torn currency notes to the various banks before specified dates.
I got the emails from two banks -
the Guarantee Trust Bank

and the First City Monument Bank.

Not only that, some banks like the Access Bank pasted a notice on their branches calling on the customers to deposit their torn, dirty and mutilated currency notes before the deadline, or they may never be able to spend it anymore.

The aim of this directive is to stop the circulation of the overused currency notes, and you need to act fast enough to dispose any in your hands before it becomes too late.
What if you're an FCMB customer? Well, it's sad this information is getting to you on the deadline (though the bank actually sent emails), you can get a GTB customer to help you make the deposits into their own bank, and then maybe make a withdrawal.

Thanks a lot for reading along. Kindly drop us a comment and don't forget to share to your friends.
