The starter motor is a mechanical system and works with electricity. It might overheat at times because it is continually energized or in other cases, the starter motor will not shut off after the car's engine has been started.In most cases, you will see or perceive smoke coming from under the engine, and the problem is caused by a short circuit, a blown fuse or an issue with the ignition switch.
