Born on the 22nd of September, 1962, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist and politician.He was the governor of Imo State from 2011-2019 and became the senator of Imo West Senatorial District at the red chamber after handing over his governorship mandate.
Owelle came into political limelight after founding the Rochas Foundation, a charity comprising a number of special schools spread all over Nigeria which give scholarships to the less privileged children in the Nigerian society.
He ran on the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform in his first attempt and ran on the platform All Progressives Congress for his second term.
Talking about his education and early life, Owelle Rochas Okorocha attended the Juladaco High School, Jos from 1976-198. He obtained a diploma in Public Administration from University of Jos and later returned to obtain an advanced diploma in Public Administration.
