Timi Dakolo is a popular Nigerian singer who rose to fame after emerging winner of West African Idol 2007. Timi started singing in church at the age of twelve and joined the singing group Purple Love as a founding member.
He came into limelight in 2007 after winning Idol West Africa. The victory also earned him a recording contract with Sony BMG, in addition to other prizes. The controversial actress Tonto Dikeh is also among the A-list celebrities that rose to fame after participating in reality shows. In 2005, Tonto Dikeh was a contestant on a reality show called “The Next Movie Star”.

• Omawumi
Omawumi has grown over the years having won several awards and endorsments with companies like Globacom, Malta Guinness and Konga.com.
• Chidinma Ekile
Chidinma also won the Best Female West African Act at the 2012 Kora Awards and performed "Kedike" at the ceremony.
