Born on the 9th of May, 1986, Brymp's father is an Awori carpenter while his mother is an Egun petty trader.
He is the only child of his parents and was raised in Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos State. Brymo was enrolled into an Islamic school and learnt to recite the whole Qur'an, and then he went to the Aganju Aka Primary School and later Japual Primary School.

According to him, he was earlier interested in football, and was always a troublesome child who never failed to get into trouble with the other children.
He recorded his first song, 'Future' in the year 1999 while he was still in secondary school and together with his friends formed a group, The Aliens which was later to disband in 2005. Brymo's was always inspired to sing after steadily hearing his mother sing fuji songs and later gained admission into the Lagos State University to study Zoology, but left in his 200L to pursue his music career.

Brymo's music career was turning on a good leaf, and he signed a record deal with the Chocolate City in 2010. He released his debut studio album, Brymstone in the year 2007 and the second, TheSonOfaKapenta in 2012. It had a number of hit tracks including 'Ara' and 'Good Morning'. His third studio album, Merchants, Dealers & Slaves was released on the 20th of October, 2013 and had a lot of positive reviews. It was preceded by two singles, 'Eko' and 'Down'. 
On the 30th of October, 2014, Brymo released his fourth studio album, Tabula Rasa with 'Fe Mi' as the lead single.
He signed an international distribution deal with the Tate Music Group in 2015 and released his fifth studio album, Klĭtôrĭs on the 9th of May, 2016. It had 11 tracks and was preceded by the lead single, 'Happy Memories'. March 2018, Brymo released his sixth studio album, Oṣó and six months later, released his self-referential fictional novel, Oriri's Plight.

Brymo's music is a mixture of fuji, R&B, pop and rock. He has a son, Waju Ashimi who was born on the 27th of March, 2015.
