She was the first of four children and spent her early years in Calabar and Lagos where she had her primary and secondary school education.After the completion of her primary and secondary education she spent one year at the University of Calabar reading remedial studies before proceeding to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) where she majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science.
