Born on the 19th of December, 1982, Senator Olubukola Abubakar Saraki is a Nigerian politician who has ruled as a governor of Kwara State, a senator and a senate president of Nigeria.
He had lost the 2019 political  race, and most people associate it to being caused by his decamping from the ruling party, All Progressive Congress to the top opposition and his former party, the People's Democratic Party.
Prior to that, he had shown his intention to run for the presidency under the People's Democratic Party, but had lost to Atiku Abubakar. 

Talking about his early life, Saraki was born to the family of Senator Olusola Saraki (senator 1979-1983) and a one time senate president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and mother, Morenike Saraki.
He first attended the Corona School, before proceeding to King's College, Lagos and then Cheltenham College in the United Kingdom for his High School Certificate.
He studied at the London Hospital Medical College of the University of London from where he obtained his M.B.B.S (London).

Saraki worked as a medical officer at Rush Green Hospital, Essex and was also a director of the Société Générale Bank (Nig) Ltd.
In 2000, President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him as the SA to the president on budget.
He ran for the office of the governor of Kwara State under the People's Democratic Party and won. He was sworn in May 2003. He ran for a re-election 2007 and won again. Under Saraki, Kwara State became the first to complete the Nigeria Independent Power Project. In collaboration with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, he re-energised the Ganmo Power Station at Ilorin, and connected over 3750 rural communities to the national grid through the development and installation of 725 transformers and 7 substations.
He became chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum in the year 2007.

After two term tenure as governor of Kwara State, Saraki also ran for the office of Senator, representing the Kwara Central Senatorial District and he won. He succeeded his sister, Gbemisola Saraki-Forowa.
He was also the Nigerian Senate President to be issued with arrest warrants.
Bukola Saraki is married to Toyin (née Ojora) Saraki and they have four children together.
