A UK-based international air transport rating agency, the Skytrax has just released their list of the top 10 best airports in the world for year 2019.
Singapore's Changi Airport was named the World's Best Airport for the 7th consecutive year and the ratings were done based on a good number of factors, ranging from the airports' architectural designs, to efficient operation, luxurious amenities, shopping options and plentiful dining.
Over 550 airports were included in the surveys and they covered around 39 services and performances parameters.
Quoting the CEO if the Skytrax,
"to be voted the Worlds Best Airport for the seventh consecutive year is a truly fabulous achievement for Changi Airport, and this award continues to underline the airports popularity with international air travelers."It is no surprise that the Asian airports topped the first six spots, while European airports also performed well in the list, but there were no African, Australian, North American or even Southern American airports in the list.
The highest ranking US airports are the Denver International Airport, which was in the 32nd position and then the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International which was the 36th in the list.
Only four African airports made it to the world best 100 airports for the year 2019, and they include the Cape Town airport (22), the Durban airport (29), the Johannesburg airport (33) and the Mauritius airport (94).
